Overview
Your document stays your document.
FolikPDF is a local-first PDF reader, converter, and workspace provided by X3N LLC. Reading, library search, scanning, text recognition, document conversion, compression, redaction, form filling, signing, annotation, page organization, and export are performed on your iPhone or iPad.
FolikPDF does not require an account and does not operate a server that receives your documents or activity. This policy describes FolikPDF version 1.0.1 and the current app architecture.
Data collection
FolikPDF does not collect personal data.
FolikPDF does not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or use personal information for advertising, analytics, profiling, or tracking. FolikPDF does not collect identifiers, contact information, usage data, diagnostics, location, financial information, or document contents.
The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs. FolikPDF’s privacy manifest declares no collected data types, no tracking, and no tracking domains.
Documents and scans
PDF processing happens on your device.
PDFs you import through Apple’s Files interface are copied into FolikPDF’s local app container so they remain available offline. Reading, library and document search, thumbnail generation, password unlocking, compression, redaction, form editing, annotation, page organization, and batch preparation occur locally.
When you scan paper, Apple’s document camera captures and corrects the page images. FolikPDF uses Apple’s Vision framework on the device to recognize text for new scans, image conversions, and searchable copies of existing PDFs.
Documents and images you select for conversion—including supported Office, Pages preview, TXT, RTF, and image files—are read and converted on the device. FolikPDF lets you review generated PDFs and compatibility notes before saving them to the local library.
FolikPDF does not upload source files, documents, scans, recognized text, annotations, form values, bookmarks, folder or tag metadata, or search terms.
Camera permission
You control camera access.
FolikPDF asks for camera access only when you choose to scan a document. Camera access is used to find page edges and capture paper documents as local PDFs. FolikPDF does not use the camera in the background and does not transmit camera content.
You may deny or revoke camera permission at any time in iOS or iPadOS Settings. File import, reading, editing, and other features remain available without camera permission.
Passwords and signatures
Sensitive tools remain local.
Protected PDF passwords
Passwords entered to open protected PDFs are passed to Apple’s PDFKit framework for the active document session. FolikPDF does not save or upload them.
Reusable signatures and initials
Reusable handwritten or typed signatures and initials are stored as files in FolikPDF’s local app container using iOS data protection. FolikPDF does not upload them. A signature placed in a PDF becomes part of that local document copy and is included when you export or share it.
Retention and deletion
You decide what stays.
Documents, bookmarks, signatures, initials, virtual folders, tags, preferences, and edits remain on your device until you remove the relevant item or uninstall FolikPDF. Removing a document from FolikPDF deletes the app’s local copy and its organization metadata. Uninstalling FolikPDF removes data in its local app container, subject to any copies retained in an operating-system backup.
You can revoke camera permission in system Settings. Because FolikPDF does not maintain accounts or server-side records, there is no FolikPDF account or cloud dataset to request for access, correction, or deletion.
Files you export or share are stored wherever you choose and are no longer controlled by FolikPDF. Delete those copies from their destination or contact the destination provider to manage them.
Apple services and diagnostics
Platform information is governed by Apple.
FolikPDF uses Apple frameworks including PDFKit, Vision, VisionKit, Files, and the system share sheet, together with its own on-device document conversion code. Their local use does not cause FolikPDF to collect your data.
Apple may provide X3N LLC with aggregated App Store performance information or crash diagnostics according to your device, App Store, and analytics privacy settings. This information is provided and governed by Apple; FolikPDF does not embed its own diagnostic or analytics service.
Children’s privacy
No data collection applies to everyone.
FolikPDF is not directed specifically to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children or adults. The app contains no advertising, social features, public profiles, or user-generated-content feed.
Policy changes
Privacy changes will be visible.
If a future version changes how FolikPDF handles data, X3N LLC will update this policy and its effective date before or when that version is released. App Store privacy disclosures will also be updated when required.
